Scarab started his career in EFW using a Magician gimmik, he debuted as part of a 15 man battle royal but was unsuccessful. Martin again competed in a tag team match weeks later, teaming with Barberino to successfuly defeat The Army. On the 9th week of EFW, Scarab was announced as one of the 16 men entered in a Wildcard Tag Tournament and was paired up with Joseph Winters.
